At BRIE Corporate, we’ve always believed that what you wear represents your brand. But how it’s packaged and ultimately disposed of should also reflect your values.

Over the past few years, we’ve made intentional shifts to reduce our environmental impact. Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s responsible business.

100% Recyclable Packaging for Folded Garments

Stacks of folded corporate uniforms packed in recyclable garment bags on a worktable inside the BRIE Corporate studio. All folded garments are now delivered in 100% recyclable paper bags. They can go straight into your yellow-lidded recycling bin – no confusion, no special handling, just simple, responsible disposal. When you’re distributing hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of garments, this small change has a meaningful impact.

Smarter Solutions for Hanging Garments

For hanging items, we use:

  • Reusable suit bags (ideal for long-term wardrobe use), or
  • BioGone (biogone.com.au) dry cleaner bags, designed to break down faster than conventional plastic and recyclable through appropriate streams.

We continually review innovations in garment packaging to reduce unnecessary waste wherever possible.

Why This Matters

The global fashion and textile industry has a significant environmental footprint:

  • Responsible for 8–10% of global carbon emissions
  • Accounts for around 20% of global wastewater
  • Generates approximately 92 million tonnes of textile waste annually
  • The equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned every second

As part of the broader garment industry, we recognise our responsibility to reduce impact wherever we can — and packaging and disposal are areas we can directly influence.

A Proudly Paper-Free Office

BRIE Corporate operates as a paperless office, reducing waste through digital workflows and sustainable business practices.

BRIE Corporate operates as a paperless office, reducing waste through digital workflows and sustainable business practices.

We’ve been a paper-free office for over five years.

We operate using reMarkable tablets, which has genuinely transformed the way we work. It allows us to:

  • Replace traditional notebooks
  • Digitally manage and sign documents
  • Reduce printing and filing
  • Streamline workflow across production, warehousing and client management

Less paper. Less clutter. Greater efficiency.

Responsible Garment Recycling

Sustainability doesn’t stop at packaging.

All fabric offcuts and garment disposal are directed to Upparel (upparel.com.au), an Australian textile recycling program committed to responsible garment recovery.

This ensures:

  • Textiles are diverted from landfill
  • Materials are recycled or repurposed
  • Secure disposal options are available

For organisations needing to dispose of uniforms securely and responsibly, this is an ideal solution — particularly where branding and confidentiality matter.

Supporting Women in Our Community

We also donate discontinued samples and suitable garments to local charities supporting women re-entering the workforce through the Women’s Centre Albury Wodonga. Providing professional clothing to women rebuilding confidence and careers is something we are incredibly proud to support. Sustainability isn’t just environmental – it’s social.

Our Waste Commitment

Visitors are often surprised to learn: We generate just one small shopping bag of landfill waste per week.

Everything else is recycled. Here in Albury, we’re fortunate to have access to the Halve Waste initiative, which allows us to responsibly recycle:

  • Cardboard
  • Soft plastics
  • Paper
  • General recyclables

Cardboard and soft plastics make up the bulk of incoming freight packaging and diverting this from landfill is a priority. We are proud to actively minimise our contribution to landfill.

Continuous Improvement – Not Perfection

Sustainability is an ongoing commitment. We continuously review:

  • Fabric choices
  • Supplier practices
  • Freight efficiencies
  • Packaging materials
  • Order consolidation strategies

As a business outfitting teams Australia-wide, volume matters – which is exactly why these changes matter.

At BRIE Corporate, our values of Reliability, Honesty & Integrity, and Innovation & Performance extend beyond the garments we produce.

Because your business image matters.
And so does the world we operate in.
